HJWAVE
(CEO Yoo Tae-hwan), a millimeter (30-300GHz) RF
specialized company supporting the first 140GHz frequency and 10GHz
bandwidth in Korea, announced on the 13th that it has developed a 140GHz
antenna applicable to future autonomous driving radar and next-generation 6G mobile
communications for the first time in Korea.
An
HJWAVE official explained, “The frequency currently used in autonomous driving
radar is 76-81GHz (bandwidth 5GHz), but in Europe, there is a demand for
antennas requiring a wide bandwidth of 10GHz at 140GHz to satisfy the
performance of high-resolution radar supporting future autonomous driving. In
line with this market trend, our company has become the first in Korea to
launch the product.”
CEO
Yoo Tae-hwan said, “This product, corresponding to
the D-Band (110~170GHz), has considered tolerance sensitivity and applied loss
reduction technology during the design and manufacturing stages compared to
conventional technology. In order to leap forward as a leading company in the
terahertz (100GHz~10THz) market, we expect synergy through technological
advancement and collaboration with domestic and foreign companies.” He
continued,
“We
are not satisfied with this year’s achievements of successfully attracting
investment, establishing a manufacturing line, laying the foundation for global
expansion, and exceeding KRW 10 billion in sales. In 2024, we plan to achieve
stable sales and profit and loss structure, establish a millimeter wave
manufacturing line and SMT line, enter the Asia Pacific market led by Japan,
and enter heterogeneous industries including the defense industry. At the same
time, we plan to graft antenna technology onto heterogeneous parts such as radomes and PCBs.”
