HJWAVE, a specialized autonomous driving RF company, announced on the 1st that it had won the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award, equivalent to the gold prize, at the '2023 Korea Invention Patent Fair', the largest intellectual property fair in Korea hosted by the Korean Intellectual Property Office and organized by the Korea Invention Promotion Association. 

The 'antenna structure with beam tilt function' technology is one of the core functions required for radars that support autonomous driving. It is a beam control technology that allows for adjusting the object detection range on the side of the vehicle and improves the installability of the front and rear side radars of the vehicle. This technology is a key technology that can ultimately reduce the number of radars installed by eliminating constraints on the installation of radar sensors due to the design and internal structure of the vehicle. 

Products applied with this technology are on display at COEX from November 1st to 4th.

CEO Yoo Tae-hwan said, “I believe that this award from the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy means that we have been recognized by an objective and credible source.” He added, “We are currently working on follow-up work, including building facilities for mass production, rather than simply securing the technology.” He added, “I hope that autonomous driving technology based on our technology will be realized, creating a safe and comfortable driving environment.”
