(CEO Tae-Hwan Yoo), a specialized autonomous driving
millimeter wave (mmWave, 30–300 GHz) RF company, announced
on the 1st that it has released a DWnT antenna solution applicable to the RF
MMIC DF (Direct Feeding) coupling method that supports autonomous driving.
The
DWnT (Double Wide and Tilt) antenna is
centered on technology that can tilt the beam from 20 to 80 degrees to remove
constraints that occur when mounting radar on a vehicle to enhance performance
to support fully autonomous driving, and non-contact transition technology that
minimizes loss due to the gap that occurs when combining RF MMIC and antenna.
In addition,
in line with the SDV (Software Defined Vehicle) trend of automobiles, cost
reduction was achieved through technology in the antenna (component) section to
secure price competitiveness of radar, and a module unit business model
combining RF MMIC and antenna is in progress.

CEO Yoo Tae-hwan said, “For fully autonomous driving,
antenna technology that can be applied to DF-type RF MMICs is emerging as an
essential technology due to issues with performance, price, and manufacturing
in radar. Also, since the use of Phase Array Antenna, which was applied to the
existing IF (Indirect Feeding) type MMIC, has become impossible, we expect an
explosive increase in demand for DWnT antennas based on our waveguide
injection molding original technology.” He added, “We are currently working
closely with two of the top three RF MMIC companies in the world to apply our DWnT antennas, and the project is in progress
through a contract with one of them. In addition, we expect to see various
achievements, including additional contracts, in the second half of this year.”
In
addition, he stated, “We are currently working on securing a quality system and
manufacturing infrastructure that meets the requirements for supplying to
automobiles through ongoing investment, and we will complete this within this
year.” He added, “We are currently securing antenna technologies such as
integrated radome and integrated PCB, which are
future technologies desired by the market and customers, in various millimeter
wave frequency bands (60 GHz, 77 GHz, 79 GHz), and we are also in the process
of securing technology for 140 GHz radar antennas that will be used in the
future era of autonomous driving. Starting in 2024, when we complete securing
patents and mass production capabilities, we plan to additionally build
strategic cooperative relationships with various domestic and foreign SIs, and
through this, we will rise as the No. 1 autonomous driving millimeter wave RF
company in the Asia Pacific region.”
