HJWAVE Co., Ltd. (CEO: Tae-Hwan Yoo), a company specializing in millimeter wave RF, announced on the 9th that it has been exclusively selected for the national project of Technology Innovation Development Market Expansion by the Small and Medium Business Administration.
The “Development
of Wideband, Wide-Angle Antenna to Reduce Performance Deviation Between
Multi-Channels” selected this time is a technology development applied to
autonomous driving image radar and high-resolution, high-resolution radar for
civilian border surveillance. It is a waveguide antenna technology that can
reduce channel deviation by more than 60% compared to conventional technology
by improving deviation through optimization and ripple reduction between
multiple antenna channels. In addition, this technology is an essential core
technology for high-resolution radar systems that can detect and distinguish
small objects by improving the vertical, horizontal distance, velocity, and
angular resolution of the radar, and is expected to contribute to improving the
accuracy and reliability of autonomous driving and surveillance systems.
HJWave explained the reason for being
selected for this new national project, saying, “It seems that our
commercialization potential was highly evaluated in consideration of the
numerous intellectual property rights we own, the ongoing development and mass
production projects between domestic and foreign autonomous driving radar
manufacturers and civilian radar manufacturers, and our track record of
attracting external investment.”
HJWave CEO Yoo Tae-hwan said, “We expect the demand for antenna
development for high-resolution radar to increase in various fields, and
through this government-supported project, we will secure high-resolution
waveguide antenna technology and mass production, and leap forward to become
the best among domestic and foreign millimeter wave (30 ~ 300GHz) antenna
companies.” He also expressed his aspirations, saying, “In the field of
waveguide antenna technology, which is highly dependent on overseas markets, we
would like to improve the trade imbalance through localization, and contribute
to strengthening the global competitiveness of domestic autonomous driving and
civilian radar.”
