HJWAVE
(CEO: Tae-hwan Yoo) announced on the 13th that it signed a
contract to develop next-generation radar for autonomous driving by combining
its proprietary core technology, the 'WGIM (Wave Guided Injection Molded)'
antenna technology, with Infineon's new autonomous driving radar chipset, a
global semiconductor company. The
WGIM
antenna technology is a key technology that determines the size and performance
of radar, a core component of autonomous driving. It satisfies both increased
detection range and wide-bandwidth/wide-angle characteristics based on a 10%
lower loss compared to existing antenna technologies.
In
addition, it has the advantage of being able to be miniaturized and
beam-tilted, and can be configured as a modular platform that allows for the
launch of new radar products by simply changing the antenna module. HJWAVE
CEO:
Tae-hwan Yoo said, "The next-generation radar
development being carried out with Infineon is a good opportunity to propose
our antenna technology and products to global autonomous driving companies, and
I believe this project will serve as an important bridgehead for our global
expansion."
The
company announced that it plans to accelerate business by expanding its
workforce and facilities by opening a Pangyo campus in addition to its Songdo,
Incheon headquarters, taking into account strengthening R&D capabilities
and entering various industrial fields.
